The Fragmented Mind 

Seven Responses

 

In this pamphlet, seven writers based in Belfast respond to the exhibition The Fragmented Mind that was on show in the MAC in the summer of 2018, which included a moving image installation 'Every Thought There Ever Was' by Lindsay Seers, and an immersive audio work 'Listening to Work' by Pedro Rebelo, among other pieces. This pamphlet was printed in a limited run of 75, in association with the MAC.

Kevin Breathnach is a writer from Dublin. His work has appeared in The Dublin Review, The White Review, The Tangerine, etc. His first collection of essays, Tunnel Vision, will be publish in Spring 2019.

​

Paula Cunningham has written two books: A Dog called Chance (Smith/Doorstop, 1999) and Heimlich's Manoeuvre (Smith/Doorstop, 2013). Heimlich's Manoeuvre was shortlisted for the Fenton-Aldeburgh, Seamus Heaney Centre, and Strong Shine First Collection Prizes. In 2015 she won second prize in the Costa Short Story Award. A new collection is due early in 2020.

Dane Holt is currently studying for a PhD at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry, Queen's University, Belfast. His poems have appeared in The Tangerine.

Anna Loughran lives in Belfast and has recently graduated from Queen's University, Belfast. She is the author of Chords of Inquiry, a pamphlet published by The Lifeboat.

​

Caitlin Newby was born in Los Angeles. Her poems and translations have been published in Ambit, Oxford Poetry, and Poetry Ireland Review. She is the poetry editor of The Tangerine. She was recently shortlisted for The White Review Poet's Prize.

Michael Nolan's work has appeared in The Stinging Fly. He was awarded an ACES grant from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in 2015, and is currently studying for a PhD at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry, Queen's University, Belfast. He is the fiction editor of The Tangerine

​

Padraig Regan is the author of two poetry pamphlets: Delicious (The Lifeboat, 2016), and Who Seemed Alive & Altogether Real (The Emma Press, 2017). In 2015 they were a recipient of an Eric Gregory Award.
